Trigger Receive Instagram

The instagramReceive module is a trigger that starts the workflow when the business Instagram account receives a direct message (DM), via Meta’s Messenger Platform. It extracts the sender and the text into a uniform shape (igSenderId, content, message_id) so downstream nodes —for example the Agent team (router)— identify the channel as instagram and reply to the right user.

  • An Instagram Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook page.
  • A Meta App (developers.facebook.com) with the Instagram / Messenger product.
  • An access token with the instagram_manage_messages permission and the Instagram account ID (IG user id).
  1. Prepare the account. Switch your Instagram to Business/Creator and link it to a Facebook page.

  2. Create the Meta App. At developers.facebook.com create an App, add the Instagram (or Messenger) product and get an access token with instagram_manage_messages. Note the IG user id too.

  3. Create the credential in Floogos. Under Credentials → New, save { accessToken, igId }.

  4. Load the credential in the node. In Trigger Receive Instagram, select that Instagram credential.

  5. Generate the webhook URL. In the node, generate the Webhook URL (Floogos’s public endpoint).

  6. Register the webhook in Meta. In your App → Webhooks → Instagram, paste the URL, set the verify token and subscribe to the messages field. Also subscribe the page/account to the App.

  7. Verify and activate. Send a DM to the account: the workflow fires. Set the workflow to Active.

To reply, add an Instagram node afterwards: by default it replies to data.igSenderId (the user who wrote). For a conversational assistant, place the Agent team (router) node in between and send {{reply}}.

  • Session identity is isolated by igSenderId, so each user has their own memory.
  • Instagram only allows replies within Meta’s standard messaging window.
