Instagram

The Instagram module sends a direct message (DM) to an Instagram user through Meta’s Graph API. It usually comes after a Trigger Receive Instagram (or an Agent team): it replies to the user who wrote. Ideal for customer support, notifications and conversational assistants on Instagram.

ParameterTypeRequiredDescription
credentials_idcredentialsYesInstagram/Meta credential (accessToken + igId)
recipienttextNoDestination user ID. Empty = uses data.igSenderId from the trigger
messagetextareaYesMessage to send (supports {{variable}} variables)

The credential must contain:

  • accessToken: Meta access token with the instagram_manage_messages permission.
  • igId: Instagram Business account ID (IG user id).
  1. Create the Meta App with the Instagram/Messenger product and get the access token (instagram_manage_messages) and the IG user id.

  2. Create the credential in Floogos (Credentials → New) with { accessToken, igId }.

  3. Select the credential in the node’s Instagram credential field.

When the message comes from the Trigger Receive Instagram, the trigger leaves the source user in data.igSenderId. Leave the Recipient field empty: the node automatically replies to data.igSenderId. This way you don’t hardcode a user and it works for anyone who writes.

  • The recipient is resolved like this: Recipient field → data.igSenderId (from the trigger).
  • Instagram only allows replies within Meta’s standard messaging window.
  • For the multi-agent conversational assistant, see Multi-agent conversational chat.
