Ecuador

In Ecuador, Floogos connects directly to the SRI (Servicio de Rentas Internas, the tax authority). There is no mandatory intermediate provider: the engine itself builds the document’s XML, computes the access key, signs it digitally, and speaks the SRI’s SOAP protocol.

  • Direct, no mandatory PAC or certifier: the Floogos engine generates the XML, signs it and sends it directly to the SRI’s web services.
  • Two-step flow: first reception (validarComprobante), where the SRI validates the schema and signature of the submitted XML; then authorization (autorizacionComprobante), where the SRI decides whether the document is valid.
  • 49-digit access key: every document carries a key computed from the issue date, document type, issuer’s RUC, environment, establishment, emission point, sequential number, emission type and a check digit (modulo 11). This key identifies the document with the SRI and is the basis for the QR code.
  • XAdES signature: the XML is digitally signed with the issuer’s certificate (.p12) using XAdES-BES, with the root element identified as id="comprobante" for the signature reference.
  • SRI’s own XML schema: unlike other countries in the region, the SRI does not use UBL; each document type (invoice, credit note, debit note) has its own XML schema defined by the authority’s technical specification.
  • 15% VAT: the general VAT rate in force since 2024 is 15% (percentage code 4 in the SRI catalog); 0% and other special rates also exist per the catalog.

An SRI document is not valid just because it was received. Reception responding RECEIVED only means the XML passed schema and signature validation; the document only has tax validity once the authorization step responds AUTHORIZED, with its corresponding authorization number and date. If authorization is left IN PROCESSING, it must be queried again later; if it responds NOT AUTHORIZED, the document must be corrected and reissued with a new sequential number.

NodeDescription
SriEmitirFacturaIssues an invoice: builds the XML, computes the access key, signs it and runs reception + authorization
SriEmitirNotaIssues a credit (04) or debit (05) note referencing the modified document
SriConsultarAutorizacionQueries authorization status by access key; reconciles documents left IN PROCESSING
SriRIDEGenerates the RIDE (printable representation) with QR code, ready to print to PDF
  1. SriEmitirFactura (or SriEmitirNota) — builds, signs and submits the document; if the SRI responds AUTHORIZED right away, it’s ready.
  2. SriConsultarAutorizacion — if the document was left IN PROCESSING, it gets queried again (for example from a scheduled workflow) until a final result comes back.
  3. SriRIDE — once authorized, the HTML with the access key’s QR code is generated to hand the customer their printed or PDF document.
  • The sri credential type stores the certificate (.p12), its password, the issuer’s RUC (13 digits) and the environment (pruebas/testing or producción/production).
  • The Floogos engine validates that the certificate is not expired before attempting to sign and send a document.
  • The document’s sequential number is auto-numbered per establishment and emission point when not provided manually.
