Trello - Get Card

↩ Part of the Trello integration.

Reads a single Trello card by its id (GET /cards/{id}) and passes it to the next node. Use it to check the current state of a card before deciding what to do: is it still open, which list is it in, when is it due, who is assigned.

You can narrow the response with the fields parameter, which is useful when the card carries a lot of data you do not need.

FieldTypeRequiredDescription
credentials_idcredentialsYesTrello credential
card_idtextYesCard id
fieldstextNoComma-separated fields to return (e.g. name,desc,due,idList)

card_id is resolved through dynamic variables ({{data.field}}). fields is sent literally.

This node requires a Trello credential (service type trello):

FieldDescription
api_keyTrello API key
tokenToken generated when authorizing that key

The card as Trello returns it. With fields set, only the requested keys (plus id) come back:

A typical pattern is Get card → Decision on {{data.idList}}, to branch depending on which column the card sits in.

  • A card that does not exist (or that your token cannot see) returns a not_found error with status 404; the workflow stops on that branch.
  • closed: true means the card is archived, not deleted.
  • Trello returns dates in UTC with milliseconds (2026-08-15T10:00:00.000Z).
