Trello - Update Card
↩ Part of the Trello integration.
Description
Section titled “Description”Updates an existing Trello card (PUT /cards/{id}). This is also the node you use to move a card between lists and to archive it — Trello models both as an update, so there is no separate node for them.
The fields to change are given as a JSON object, which lets one node handle any editable card attribute without a form field per attribute.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
credentials_id | credentials | Yes | Trello credential |
card_id | text | Yes | Card id |
fields | JSON | Yes | Fields to update, e.g. {"idList":"...","closed":true} |
card_id is resolved through dynamic variables ({{data.field}}). fields is not: it is parsed as JSON and sent as-is, so build any computed value in a previous node.
Credentials
Section titled “Credentials”This node requires a Trello credential (service type trello):
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
api_key | Trello API key |
token | Token generated when authorizing that key |
Commonly updated fields
Section titled “Commonly updated fields”| Key | Effect |
|---|---|
idList | Moves the card to that list (this is how you advance a board column) |
closed | true archives the card, false restores it |
name | Renames the card |
desc | Replaces the description |
due | Sets the due date (ISO) |
dueComplete | true marks the due date as done |
idMembers | Replaces the list of assigned members |
pos | top, bottom or a number |
Output
Section titled “Output”The updated card, as Trello returns it:
{ "data": { "id": "66cd34ef56ab78cd90ef12ab", "name": "Order: ACME Inc.", "idList": "66ba98fe76dc54ba32fe10dc", "closed": false, "shortUrl": "https://trello.com/c/AbCdEfGh" }, "_meta": { "moduleVersion": "1.0.0", "success": true, "id": "66cd34ef56ab78cd90ef12ab", "totalMs": 231 }}Note the new idList: that is the confirmation the card actually moved.
Usage Example
Section titled “Usage Example”Move the card to the “Done” list
Section titled “Move the card to the “Done” list”{ "credentials_id": "trello_ops", "card_id": "{{data.card_id}}", "fields": { "idList": "66ba98fe76dc54ba32fe10dc" }}Archive the card without deleting it

fieldsis not valid JSON, the node stops with avalidationerror before calling Trello. - Only the keys you send are changed; everything else keeps its current value.
idMembersreplaces the assignee list, it does not add to it. Read the card first if you need to append.- Archiving (
closed: true) is reversible; deleting is not.
