ClickUp - Delete Task
↩ Part of the ClickUp integration.
Description
Section titled “Description”Permanently deletes a ClickUp task (DELETE /task/{task_id}). Use it to clean up tasks created by mistake, or temporary tasks a workflow no longer needs.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
credentials_id | credentials | Yes | ClickUp credential |
task_id | text | Yes | id of the task to delete |
task_id is resolved through dynamic variables ({{data.field}}).
Credentials
Section titled “Credentials”This node requires a ClickUp credential (service type clickup):
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
token | Personal API token from ClickUp → Settings → Apps → API Token |
Output
Section titled “Output”ClickUp returns no useful body for a deletion, so the node emits a confirmation object:
{ "data": { "id": "86a1b2c3d", "deleted": true }, "_meta": { "moduleVersion": "1.0.0", "success": true, "id": "86a1b2c3d", "totalMs": 219 }}Because the task itself is gone, keep anything you need from it (URL, name, assignees) before this node runs.
Usage Example
Section titled “Usage Example”{ "credentials_id": "clickup_ops", "task_id": "{{data.task_id}}"}A safe pattern: Get task → check it is really the one → Delete task.
- Deleting a task that no longer exists returns a
not_founderror (404); it is not treated as success. - Deleting a parent task also removes its subtasks in ClickUp.
- Deletion requires write permission on the space; otherwise you get a
401/403authentication error, which is not retried.
